THE ANCIENT ROMAN COLONY OF LUNA

The Roman city of Luni is famous above all for its amphitheater. Able to accommodate up to 7000 spectators, it dates back to the 2nd century AD. Used for grandiose hunting and gladiator shows it still strikes today with its greatness. A visit to the National Archaeological Museum of Luni where archaeological finds from the ancient Roman colony of Luna are exhibited cannot be missed.

HISTORICAL SARZANA, HEIR OF LUNI

Sarzana, crossed by the historic Via Francigena and Via del Sale, has been incredibly favored by its strategic territorial position.
Sarzana is worth a visit for the numerous historic buildings embellished with marble friezes, the churches and fortresses of Sarzanello and Firmafede.
It is also famous for its tradition of restoration shops.

SESTRI LEVANTE, OVERLOOKING THE GULF OF TIGULLIO.

Sestri Levante, or, as Hans Christian Andersen renamed it in 1833, ‘the city of the two seas’, is divided into two bays: the ‘Fairy Tales’ and the ‘Silence’ bays.
Ideal for a romantic walk on its promenade and for a cool aperitif on the beach, it captivates with its beauty and vitality.
One should also definitely visit the Handersen summer festival dedicated to children.

Rapallo is a picturesque town located in the center of the Gulf of Tigullio.
Rapallo is worth a visit for its walk and for the enchanting views of its pretty hilly hamlets.

Another splendid Ligurian village, Camogli, overlooks the Paradiso gulf.
This typical fishing village with tall colorful houses attracts tourists from all over the world in search of relaxation, sea and great food.
The unique statue of Christ of the Abyss, submerged in the bay of San Fruttuoso, is an essential stop for diving lovers.
